eNCA | Fan speaks out after fatal stampede at Soweto derby
JOHANNESBURG – One of the people injured during last week’s stampede at FNB Stadium says she regrets going to the match without a valid ticket.
Nomadlozi Kubheka suffered serious injuries when fans tried to rush into the venue.
Two people were trampled to death.
Kubheka — from Amersfoort in Mpumalanga — said she’d never been to the stadium before to watch a live soccer match.
The mother of two said she doesn’t remember what happened at Gate 12 on Saturday.
The Kaizer Chiefs fan is recovering at home after she was discharged from Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital.
Her advice to other soccer supporters is that they should buy match tickets on time and be wary of fake ticket sellers.
