JOHANNESBURG – Judgment in the coffin-assault trial will be handed down on Friday after final arguments were delivered in the high court sitting in Middelburg on Monday.

Theo Jackson and Willem Oosthuizen face attempted murder and kidnapping charges.

They were filmed allegedly forcing Victor Mlotshwa into a coffin and threatening to set it alight.

The defence described Mlotshwa as a poor witness, saying he and another state witness insisted that the attack occurred on 17 August when it, in fact, took place on 7 September.

The defence also questioned why Mlotshwa refused to show the court the extent of his injuries.

The community wants justice.
