The Music In Africa Foundation (MIAF) is a Pan-African, non-profit organisation based in Rosebank, Johannesburg, with satellite offices in east, west and central Africa.
The Music In Africa Foundation’s website www.musicinafrica.net is easily the fastest growing information and exchange web portal dedicated to the African music sector, reaching thousands of people every day.
With hundreds of contributors across the globe and thousands of musicians registered on the website, the publication has a reputation of providing reliable and useful information for fans and music professionals on the continent.
We seek to appoint a projects intern for three months starting 1 October 2017. The intern will work from the Music In Africa Foundation’s Rosebank Johannesburg office.
The intern will support both the project’s manager and projects officer, which includes but is not limited to carrying out the following functions:
- Projects administration
- International travel and accommodation bookings
- General Travel logistics and requirements such as visa
- Preparation and updating of various project and travel schedules
- Undertake office errands as required
- Conference Delegate Liaison
- Preparation of conference materials
- Assistance with coordination of design and promotional materials
- Background financial administration
Requirements
- Be in the final year of studies or have recently studied arts and culture management or related programme
- Exposure to arts and culture related project implementation work environment
- Ability to navigate online project administration systems
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft office (particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Ability to undertake basic social media promotions
- Code eight drivers licence
