Conversation LAB Durban is looking for an outgoing, hard-working middle-weight writer to join our team. If you’re passionate about copy and can write long and short form, then we want you. This role offers great growth prospects and you will get to work on a wide range of clients across various mediums.

Conversation LAB is an award-winning, fast-growing integrated agency with some awesome clients in FMCG and B2B. We put digital at the heart of everything – building out 360 campaigns for leading brands. We cover all types of communications from print, POS, OOH, social media and search engine optimisation to brand development and experiential.
Conversation LAB now has offices in JHB, Cape Town and London with the main engine operating out of Durban. We scooped 30 creative awards in 2016 and have already added to that in 2017 including an International award.
Our client base includes Varsity College, The Business School, International Hotel School, Dunlop, Chubb, Environ Skin Care, Renew and Inecto Personal care products, Darling, Kinky Dry Hair products to name a few. We also do extensive work in Africa including DRC, Nigeria and Kenya – and have recently won two London clients.

Requirements
- You understand and love the power of persuasive copy and you are stickler for grammar and punctuation.
- You have a concept-driven approach.
- You can write creatively, with good meter, and have a jargon-free approach to long and short marketing copy.
- You have an understanding of the many ways copy works with images and can show us examples
- You are able to work with designers and art directors.
- You can write in a creative and diverse way with the ability to adapt your copy style for a varied client base.
- You’re self-motivated.
Day to day responsibilities of the copywriter
- Writing clear, persuasive, original copy.
- Submitting ideas and discussing progress with the Creative Director.
- Amending, revising or redeveloping campaigns in response to feedback from the creative director, account management or clients.
- Working on several campaigns at once, under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Work closely with the agency’s social media team to deliver data-driven customer comms.
You will need:
- Acute attention to detail.
- A portfolio with examples of long and short copy
