The General Manager will be responsible to manage the Bronkhorstspruit site in a profitable manner to increase sales and brand image while producing a high quality product which is in line with consumer demands. This must be done in line with the implementation of the Strategic Plan.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor degree or advanced diploma in Management or related.
• Valid drivers licence.

What would your position entail?

Strategy:

• To established a forum to enable Speciality to compete with each other, but working towards a common cause
• To address the legal implication of excess overtime being worked in terms of the BCE.
• To address and implement a cohesive effort to exploit possible growth opportunities.
• To address the impact on our business due to not being a national supplier and brand name.
• Participate in Group and Divisional strategic sessions in order to develop a relevant strategy that will grow shareholder value.
• Recognise and propose business development opportunities for symbioses and synergy relating that create value for Speciality.
• Ensures resources required to meet strategic targets.
• Remove any hurdles in the way of execution
• Strategy is implemented.

Production:

• To produce high quality product at the required volumes at optimum cost levels.
• To ensure that standardised recipes are implemented throughout Bronkhorstspruit.
• To ensure a high standard of quality control in respect of product produced is implemented and monitored at each department.
• To ensure the implementation of the HACCP Program at each department.
• To ensure that a production plan is implemented in order that customer requirements are met.

Plant Maintenance:

• To ensure the effective and efficient maintenance of the production plants at the various divisions.
• To monitor and oversee maintenance systems (PRAGMA System) in line with the CAPEX budget
• To ensure the CAPEX budget is planned and utilized effectively
• To implement a planned maintenance system where required and to ensure that the system is adhered to and no deviations occur.
• To ensure that maintenance systems are adhered to in order to ensure that no equipment must be replaced before its due date.

Cost Control:

• To maintain control of the expenses within budget limits.

Administration:

• To ensure that Bronkhorstspruit has an adequate internal control system in order to safeguard the companies assets ensure any deviations from the control systems are addressed and the required action taken.

Risk Management:

• To control the pricing of all expenditure in regard to procurement.

Human Resources:

• To ensure that the Human Resource issues are managed effectively and that all policies and procedures are adhered to that all legal requirements as per BCEA, LRA and EE are followed
