A provider of the latest advancements in digital health & wellness solutions invites a Software Integration Specialist to join its team in Stellenbosch. Candidates must have working knowledge of API concepts and REST architectural style. Experience debugging web applications, using a REST client such as Postman and making cURL calls.

Duties:
API Ownership:

• Ensure that API is sensible, consistent and developer friendly.
• Ensure that API is well documented.
• Ensure documentation is maintained.

API Integration:

• Engage with customers to understand and analyse their needs and use cases and translate that to our product and engineering teams.
• Define, plan and execute integration projects that span across multiple organisations.
• Maintain integration documentation and templates.
• Clearly and accurately communicate project status and timelines.

API Solutions:

• Analyse the needs of integration partners and help them make best use of the company platform to roll out solutions.
• Grow the Cloud Solutions team and play active leadership role for the team.
• Develop tools and libraries that facilitate integration and help integration partners with developing solutions based on our platform.

Core API facilitation and Support:

• Advise business partners and developers about API capabilities and toolset.
• Investigate technical integration challenges and guide customers to successful resolution.
• Escalate to development teams when needed and work with them to resolution.
• Communicate with a wide variety of teams to ensure the best customer experience.
• Answer ongoing questions related to APIs.
• Enable customers to access API functionality.
• Create and maintain relevant documentation.

Requirements:

• Working knowledge of API concepts and REST architectural style.
• Experience debugging web applications.
• Experience using a REST client, such as Postman, and making cURL calls.
• Familiarity with RESTful JSON API standards.
• An understand (stemming from development experience) the technical frustrations inherent in having to integrate with 3rd party APIs and care about making that process as smooth as possible.
• An understanding of how large corporate development teams operate and what their concerns and restrictions are.
• Skills and experience considered to be advantageous.
• Familiarity with Blueprint documentation tools.
• An understanding of wearable devices and the practicalities of its use in real-world science scenarios. An in-depth understanding of the strengths and limitations of photo plethysmography (PPG)-based wearable devices in industry.
• Prior experience working in a fast-paced start-up envirspectful, diligent, contrarian.
• Prior experience in engaging customers
