Environment:

A dynamic IT and management consulting firmis seeking a talented performance engineer to join its team on a mission to continue advancing technology across the African continent. You will be expected to understand the performance practice across the SDLC, conduct performance tests and validation application performance management, problem detection and resolution knowledge areas. You require an IT Degree/Diploma, be certified ineither .Net/Java, SQL Server/Oracle, CISCO, MCSE and have at least three years’ experience in a similar role. Any ISTQB, ITIL and TOGAF certifications will prove beneficial.

Duties:

• Responsible for the definition, development, and execution of a full suite of performance tests for periodic release cycles, product validation and project level testing.
• Responsible for defining and monitoring application performance and end-user experience to enable faster root cause analysis.
• Problem detection and resolution.
• Expert level at develop and debug test scripts.
• Expert level at correlate and create test data for performance testing.
• Execute tests and collect results.
• Diagnose and problem solve application, server, and database performance issues.
• Summarize performance results and issues into a comprehensive test report.
• Peer review junior performance engineer scripts, tests, and reports.
• Mentor and guide one or two junior performance engineers.

Requirements:

• IT degree or diploma.
• Certification in programming (.Net/Java), Database (SQL Server, Oracle), Systems Engineer (CISCO, MCSE).
• Three to five years’ experience.

Advantageous –

• A certification in testing theory and techniques (ISTQB Foundations and Technical Test Analyst).
• Project Management certification or foundation level training.
• Experience within a Financial Insurance market.
• IT Risk Management and Operations – ITIL certification.
• Architecture and development – TOGAF certification.
