Environment:

If you possess strong leadership and understand performance practices across the SDLC, then a fast-paced, growing IT and management consultancy wants you as their next highly skilled and forward-thinking lead performance engineer.You will take charge of ensuring that applications have been exceptionally designed & built and exceed performance goals while also being responsible for the definition, development, and execution of a full suite of performance tests. You must possess an IT Degree/Diploma, at least three years’ experience leading a software dev team and be certified ineither .Net/Java, SQL Server/Oracle, CISCO/MCSE.
Duties:

Being both technical and project focused, the Lead Performance Engineer will be responsible for applying best practices and leading a team of between 3 to 5 Performance Engineers –

• Fully understand non-functional requirements (NFR’s) and can define and translate business NFR’s into a technical solution.
• Ensure that the application has been designed and built to exceed performance goals.
• Ensure the definition, development, and execution of a full suite of performance tests for periodic release cycles, product validation and project level testing.
• Manage and lead the Performance Engineering activities on a Project.
• Report progress of Performance Engineering activities to Senior Management.
• Excellent communication skills – communicates progress and risks – communicates well in both written and verbal levels – and in technical and non-technical format.
• Define the approach, tools, and support roles needed to manage and triage performance issues.

Requirements:

• IT degree or diploma.
• Certification in programming (.Net/Java), Database (SQL Server, Oracle), Systems Engineer (CISCO, MCSE).
• Between three to five years’ experience leading a Software Dev team.

Advantageous –

• A certification in testing theory and techniques (ISTQB Foundations and technical test analyst).
• Project Management certification or foundation level training.
• Experience within a Financial Insurance market.
• IT Risk Management and Operations – ITIL certification – TOGAF certification.
