eNCA | Estina dairy project suspects granted bail, Ajay Gupta ‘a fugitive from justice’
JOHANNESBURG – The accused in the Estina dairy project, except for sole Estina director Vasram, have been granted bail of either R10,000 to R200,000 depending on their means.
Seven people appeared in the Bloemfontein regional court on Thursday.
In the latest development in the saga, the Hawks have confirmed that Ajay Gupta is “a fugitive from justice” and appeal to him to “turn yourself in”
Hawks say #AjayGupta had agreed to hand himself over but failed to do so. They are now searching for him, and intend to take him into custody.

They face charges linked to the R220-million Estina Dairy project scandal.

The case has been postponed to 17 August.
The Estina project allegedly saw hundreds of millions of rand meant for poor black farmers, being redirected to Gupta family and business bank accounts.
State says it isn’t opposing bail for #Estina accused. Case is still under investigation, most addresses have been confirmed and it wouldn’t “be in interests of justice” for bail not to be granted.
