An exciting and growing Design Agency in Durban is on the hunt for a clever, mid-weight Strategic Planner to conceptualise and develop successful strategies that drive brand popularity and meet client objectives. Responsibilities
- Develop effective new brand strategies using defined agency processes
- Unlock briefs: critically interrogating and understanding them and the client context
- Define the way forward on each job strategically and giving the team a tight single-minded strategic approach
- Research: uncovering brand truths, competitive gaps and consumer insights
- Conceptualise ideas that align with client strategies and objectives
- Articulate your ideas clearly; packaging and presenting these internally and externally
- Guide idea implementation through other disciplines
- Involvement in client’s strategic and research sessions
Requirements
The successful candidate must have/be:
- Diploma or Degree qualified in Marketing Communications/Brand Leadership (ideal)
- At least three to five years Strategic Planning experience from a through the line advertising agency (or similar)
- Proven track record of creative solutions to various levels of problems
- An understanding of media and channel planning
- A sound understanding of marketing disciplines, and knowledge of branding/brand positioning/brand valuation theory
- An eclectic approach to problem solving with the ability to be both rigorously analytic as well as intuitive
- A sound understanding of both qualitative and quantitative research
- Highly developed listening skills
- Presentation skills, preparation and persuasion
