eNCA | Workers in limbo as Gupta-owned company can’t guarantee salaries
JOHANNESBURG – Optimum Coal Mine CEO George van der Merwe has told employees that he can’t guarantee that salaries will be paid on Friday.
More than 2,000 workers are demanding answers about the company’s future and their job security.

The mine was owned by the world’s largest coal exporter, Glencore, before it was contyroversially bought by the Gupta-owned Tegeta Exploration and Resources.
There have been reports that the company may not have money to pay salaries.
It was earlier reported that Tegeta has placed Optimum in business rescue.
