Our Buying Team has a new and exciting opportunity available for a creative, enthusiastic and driven Designer to assist with the design work in the rapidly growing corporate division as well as working closely together with K-Way in adherence to the Cape Union Mart Group standards.

Our ideal candidate will have the ability to align with the company vision, be self-motivated and actively involved in overseeing the end to end process in the applicable area of responsibility. In addition, the successful candidate should have the high energy levels required for this fast-paced, exciting and dynamic retail environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide technical designs (CAD format) according to the strategy for the portfolio
• Work closely with Buying, Corporate Sales and K-Way factory
• Assist with the research of local and international trends as required
• Compile design requirements and specifications with regards to colour ways
• Develop artwork for the Corporate Sales team for branding placements and corporate proposals
• Prepare and amend artwork for packaging, swing tickets, trim developments and other merchandise requirements
• Formalise artwork for reproduction for repeat lines as well as artwork pieces
• Self-development and growth

Requirements

Experience and Qualifications

• Matric with a relevant tertiary qualification in Fashion Design or Design is an important pre-requisite
• Two+ years’ working experience in a similar role within a design environment is preferred
• Working knowledge of Microsoft office and Outlook is essential
• Preference will be given to candidates with working knowledge and experience with Coral Draw Preference will be given to candidates with an understanding of garment construction/manufacturing
• Will be required to travel within the Region and therefore a valid driver’s license and own vehicle is advantageous
