Quality Assurance Facilitator/Registrar/Student Liaison (Johannesburg)
GDC is looking to employ an experienced Quality Assurance Facilitator with highly developed organizational and managerial skills to work with GDC’s Executive Committee to promote quality assurance at GDC and to act as student registrar and student liaison. The incumbent should hold a Master’s degree, have excellent verbal and written communication skills and should be exceptionally computer literate. Experience in e-learning, online course development, social media and electronic communication will be an advantage.
Requirements, Experience and Responsibilities:
Quality management, Reporting, Documentation and Compliance
- Experience in higher education quality management for the creative disciplines.
- At least three years’ experience in implementing statutory requirements for Higher Education, incl Setas, CHE (incl HEQC online & NLRD), SAQA and DHET, with a record of successful administration of statutory requirements, such as preparing correspondence and reports for accreditation and registration purposes, collating and submitting annual reports, and communication with external and internal stakeholders to implement requirements for relevant statutory bodies.
- Formal training in valid assessment and in outcomes-based or project-based assessment.
- Academic and research skills, incl. research supervision and development.
- Experience in statistical quality assurance matrices and willingness to use and improve existing GDC QA systems in liaison with the Executive Committee, Head of Academic Planning, Heads of Department and lecturers, to prepare statistical and other reports to all internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience in procedures for site visits, in order to prepare for and coordinate statutory CHE / DHET site visits at GDC.
- Experience in conducting quality checks and receiving, collating and responding to GDC reports, in order to report on the implementation of curricula, strategic goals, policies and statutory requirements of higher education in Southern Africa.
- Experience in academic and institutional policy development with academic and administrative peers in accordance with policy standards.
Student Admissions and Management of Student Records
- Experience in RPL and CAT and annual student enrolment.
- Experience in maintaining accurate records for student reservations, registrations, deregistrations, suspension of studies and collating and releasing of students results.
- Experience in compiling and maintaining student records such as class lists, academic transcripts, conferment lists and proof of registration.
- Experience in submitting records to the CHE / DHET (i.e. Edu.Dex).
- Experience in compiling certificates and managing the security of the certification process from order of certificates through to printing and dissemination.
Student Support and Liaison
- Experience in conducting and reporting on student evaluative feedback and surveys, and in liaison with student representative body.
- Experience in student orientation and providing general support including support for students at risk of failure.
- Experience in facilitating student sponsor meetings with academic staff.
