DevOps / Systems Administrator

Liquorice is a dynamic, forward thinking and a world leading digital agency. We are seeking a Systems Administrator to join our Cape Town team. We need someone who will have no problem fitting into this driven and dynamic environment.

Key roles and responsibilities:

• System administration (Linux and Windows servers) – configuration, security, maintenance, backups, monitoring
• Network Management (DNS,NAT,Firewall,Routing management etc)
• Assist with deployment of Dev, PPE and Production environments in cloud and local DC’s
• Testing of Software\Website services (e.g. APIs) and infrastructure during deployment
• Resolve technical PROD, QA and Dev environment issues
• Investigate and address availability, performance and capacity issues.
• Ensures the client solution build, deployment and enhancements are delivered on time and to specification both within the initial release and in all subsequent releases.
• Manage databases (deploy, optimise, backup, configure, monitor)
• Patch and upgrade management to servers, bought products and developed products
• Configuration Management
• Functional monitoring
• After hour support when client requires or when deployment is required. Will be scheduled ahead of time
• Procurement of assets (domains, server’s, Licensing, etc)

Skills and characteristics 

• Five years in a systems administrator role
• Python and Bash scripting will be advantage
• MySQL/MSSQL Database management
• Windows Server administration
• Linux Server administration
• System monitoring tools (e.g. Graphite, New Relic, Data Dog, Nagios)
• Security Management
• Network Management
  

Qualifications 

• IT/ related Bachelor Degree or Diploma in IT administration\ IT networking or Q Linux admin course or MCSE,MCITP
• Certifications in tools listed above would be advantageous
