The Senior Manager within Technical Product Development is responsible for leading a team of highly qualified specialists in a particular domain to achieve the business objectives of the department. Domains and services include but is not limited to: Broadband and Network Services domain: Internet services, Broadband networks, Non-Voice services and TPD IP LABs. IP Services domain: IP networks, L2 and L3 VPN networks, hosted services, cloud services, security services, Managed ICT services, LAN services and customer premises services. Unified Communications and Special Projects domain: Multimedia, UC, CSS, Voice, VoIP, SIP, SDPM (Specific Design PM). Business Engagement Responsible for the strategic and operational planning of the technical product development function in the organisation. Serves as the interface between customer-facing entities (e.g. sales, marketing and product) and the various technical areas (e.g. networks and IT) for the development of new and the enhancement of existing products, services, solutions and capabilities. Ensures that the end-to-end development process flow is optimized to facilitate value to all business stakeholders, i.e. from product or service conceptualisation to launch (technical readiness, and beyond, including the highest tier of on-going support.
Directs activities of engineering staff engaged in preparing project plans, designs, cost estimates and specifications for developmental, experimental, maintenance, modernization and rationalisation programmes to determine the most feasible approach to technical problems, solutions support and associated improvements. Analyses performance records, relevant product and technology strategies, processes and physical operations and submits report of findings to management. Delivers technical input to sales engagements, general technical consulting, RFP responses and develops customer specific solutions (CSS) when required by business.
