Job description

We are looking for an experienced Art Director who has a Design/Art related degree or diploma, with three to five years’ agency experience as an Art Director to fill this position which has become available in the Jungle.

Reporting to the Creative Director, this person will be responsible for:

• Ideation, conceptualisation with clear strategic intent according to brand/s solutions.
• Formulating and agreeing briefs with all parties to manage creative deliverables
• Coordinating formal reviews with creatives in preparation for Senior reviews
• Coordinating all work flowing through their team and understanding that different projects are at different points, each requiring unique input
• Providing a well thought through solution and communicating this Internally and to Clients
• Ensuring that the highest creative and design standards are met and transferred to others
• Upskilling the design team within the conceptual discipline
• Being the Brand/s custodian, developing and maintaining strict design guidelines and consistent CI standards
• Managing the output of the designers in your team
• Assisting in the planning of a project by defining production requirements, defining and implementing ‘best approach’ and scoping timings
• Mentorship to grow junior Designers conceptual abilities
• Providing creative Innovation in contribution of Pitches and Proactive projects
• Managing a variety of projects simultaneously.
• Networking within the Advertising Industry and encouraging creativity internally
• Brainstorming and seeing a project through to completion

Requirements

• At least three years’ experience in an art directing capacity
• A portfolio of work that is easily accessible
• Design related degree/diploma
• Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator
• The ability to work independently
• Deadline and task driven
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Team player
• Storyboarding
• Excellent presentation skills
