Job description
Our client, a leading digital agency, seeks the skills and expertise of a seasoned digital planner to join their team as soon as possible.
Develop and implement tactics appropriate for use in social media in support of the digital marketing. This includes the promotion of events, programs and products related to social media platforms.
Review and map existing social media content strategy and work with business partners and strategist to assure a messaging plan that incorporates social media best practices, and enterprise goal, particularly as it,t pertains to Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and the company blog. This includes the strategic use of post to promote and other audience building tools.
Draft, review and submit social media content for Facebook, Twitter, and the blog.
Strong capabilities to classify content using metadata and to develop a SEO strategy and implement a robust SEO tactical plan.
Duties:
- Understanding and knowing online metrics
- Optimising target space
- Create digital experiences for brands
- Ensure delivery of consistently high standard campaign strategies
- Contribute innovative, fresh ideas for relevant part of the pitch/plan content – know internal and external factors affecting the client
- Keep knowledge at the forefront of current and future industry thinking
- Support the comms planning team and help to develop digital strategy in line with the overarching comms strategy while demonstrating creativity, innovation and big ideas
- Develop ideas that will bring the strategic concept alive in all digital channels
- Budgeting (keeping track of and ensuring responsible future allocations
- Negotiation and commitment tracking
- Negotiate best possible deal (improve on current deal, make use of packages, specials, etc.)
- Monitor the environment the campaign runs in, to make sure objectives are achieved, and flag any changes to the strategist (audience predictions, CPP predictions and monitoring)
- Assist in the preparation of competitive analysis
- Assist communication strategist with implementation at strategic planning stage
- Supply audit information data when required
- Upload data onto the extranet when required
- Use threshold analysis for future or past analysis of CPPs
- Use affinities to create a benchmark for effective media buying
- Apply learnings from the companies tools/research such as purple GRPs to create more effective plans
- Attend client and internal status meeting as required by the business head or head of department
Requirements
- The incumbent must have extensive experience in media implementation planning (preferably five to seven years)
- SA data resources
- Knowledge and understanding of clients business
- Sound understanding of marketing disciplines
- Knowledge of branding/ positioning/ brand valuation theory
- Productive, (must be a self-starter, be able to work alone)
