Job description
We are looking for an experienced event coordinator to oversee and organise the brand and direct marketing events at FMI. You’ll ensure events are successful and cost-effective, paying attention to budget and time constraints. An event coordinator is, above all, a project manager who understands marketing and promotion techniques. We want to see enthusiastic candidates with fresh ideas and the organisational skills required to not leave anything about an event to chance.
Key duties and responsibilities:
Key purpose
Planning event from start to finish according to requirements, target audience and objectives. Preparing budgets and ensuring adherence.
Key outputs
- Plan event from start to finish according to requirements, target audience and objectives
- Develop, conceptualise and execute events and sponsorships to create the desired brand experience for staff, clients and intermediaries.
- Prepare budgets and ensure adherence
- Source and negotiate with vendors and suppliers
- Coordinate all operations
- Lead promotional activities for the event
- Supervise all event staff
- Create clear communication lines before the day of the event with all relevant internal staff
- Ensure event is completed smoothly and step up to resolve any problems that might occur
- Analyse the event’s success and prepare reports
Requirements
Experience
- Minimum of eight years of proven experience as an event coordinator from a reputable company/venue
- BSc/BA in PR, marketing, hospitality management or related field is preferred
- Knowledge of the insurance industry is preferred
Competencies
- Skilled in event and project management
- Knowledge of KPIs and marketing techniques for event management
- Computer savvy; proficient in all MS Office programmes
- Outstanding communication and negotiation ability
- Excellent organisational skills
- Customer-service orientation

- Ability to perform well under pressure
Must have
- Clear criminal and credit check
- Own insured transport, cell phone and driver’s license
