Head of Marketing (Durban)
Job description
Durban Preparatory High School (DPHS) is looking for a head of marketing to not only fulfil the role of school marketer and communicator to the current DPHS community but importantly, to promote and market the school to prospective parents in the greater KZN region.
This is a full-time position that is not defined by the normal hours of a school day and as such, will require flexibility with some weekend; holiday and evening work as part and parcel of the role.
The staff member will report directly to the DPHS headmaster, with the position filled by the School Governing Body (SGB).
Interested candidates can request the job specification and submit their CV’s to DPHS School Governing Body marketing portfolio head Cara Reilly between 11 September 2018 and 5pm on 21st September 2018. After this period, a four-week interview process will be held, with all candidates shortlisted for interviews contacted directly.
Note that those not contacted after 30 September 2018 should consider their application unsuccessful, and that DPHS reserves the right not to fill this position.
Requirements
Individuals applying for this job need to meet certain criteria that speak not only to the job function but the ‘fit’ of the person in the school. This position requires a high degree of self-management with key competencies include, but are not limited to:
- A tertiary qualification or related experience
- Excellent command of the English language
- Highly competent writing skills
- High computer literacy – excellent knowledge of all Microsoft packages
- High competency in the management of social media platforms
- Competency and experience in photography
- A high EQ and the ability to work well with people in a close-knit environment
- Attention to detail
- A professional disposition/stature
- The ability to work under pressure
- Flexibility in working hours and job roles on an ad hoc basis
It would be advantageous for candidates to have experience in design software; multi-lingual ability and work experience in a school environment.
