The Vine Community, based in Constantia, Cape Town is looking for the services of a live-in House Mother who will manage and care for a small group of high-functioning young adults with intellectual disabilities in conjunction with an assistant House Mother. The position entails the general management and running of this Christian community home. Residents all have full time employment. They enjoy regular evening activities as well as weekend outings; these activities are organised by the House Mother. Accommodation: Separate bedroom with own bathroom facilities. All meals included. Tasks include: Planning and preparation of nutritious meals, shopping, transport (in a Quantum van) and other activities involved in the taking care of and developing the residents. Skills required: Good communication, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills, patience and compassion, driver’s licence, computer literacy and budgeting. This position is available immediately.
