Job description

This is a commission based full time position for a sales rep in Durban, to start mid-January 2019.

You would be required to work as part of a magazine team, within that a sales team. Work will include but not be limited to, selling of print media advertising space, digital based marketing packages, expo space at garden shows, sponsorships of the different brands, coming up with campaign ideas and proposals, working as a team to meet advertising targets, participating in projects the team is involved with regarding all manner of focus, including shows, videos, building gardens, etc.

The applicant needs be able to think logically and systematically, communicate clearly and effectively, be able to work independently and to deadlines. They would need to take responsibility for their tasks and roles within the team and the company, work with tenacity, be able to write eloquent, consise proposals, research information, as well as display the ability to communicate professionally, be affable, and take ownership of mistakes. Long hours may be required in order to meet deadlines, and travel within the country may be necessary from time to time. The position is for someone based in Durban, preferably the Upper Highway area.

Lonehill Trading publishes a number of magazine titles. The Gardener and Die Tuinier being the longest running of the titles.

Requirements

• Computer proficiency and working knowledge of Microsoft package, Outlook, Word, Excel
• Own transport
• Team player attitude
• Enthusiastic
• Creative
• Able to work without supervision

It would be of added value if the applicant had previously worked in the sales arena and has a suitable tertiary qualification.

Remuneration will be based on the successful applicants’ education and experience.

The package will include Provident Fund and Medical Aid contribution.

First round candidates will be requested to produce three short projects to display ability and diplomacy.
