Job description
Key function:
- To assist with all current and ongoing tasks and responsibilities of the marketing department in order to achieve annual targets.
- Integral part of the events planning and management team with responsibilities including planning, budget management, sourcing sponsorship and execution.
Direct responsibilities
- Idea generation for new income generating events and fundraising.
- Sourcing sponsorships and donations for events.
- Responsible for providing material to the social media co-ordinator for website and social media on all events.
- Adhoc administrative support within the department.
- Attend and manage exhibitions.
- Assist with all event related tasks – from planning to execution.
Requirements
Essential qualities:
- Passionate about the work of the association.
- Must have a high work ethic and be driven to achieve targets.
- Must be prepared to give more than ‘nine to five’.
- Must treat donors and volunteers in a warm friendly manner and be service orientated.
- Empathy with people who are differently abled.
- Must love dogs, and be happy to have them in your environment.
- Must be comfortable with public speaking.
Qualifications/experience:
- Must be able to communicate efficiently and write in English and one other South African official language.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and own vehicle.
- Must be well spoken, well-groomed and presentable.
- Must be available to work after hours and on weekends as required.
- Must have at least two years’ event management experience.
- Must have at least two years’ experience in fundraising.
- Social media management experience is an advantage.
- Experience in project management an advantage.
- Must be computer literate with advanced MS Office skills.
