Financial & Cost Accountant

 Elgin Free Range Chickens, Grabouw

 The person will report directly to the Financial Director. The responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Preparing monthly management reports; income statements, balance sheet, cash flow, financial ratios
• Present monthly financial management accounts to Financial Director
• Internal audit and documentation of financial procedures and controls
• Maintain accounting records of certain companies within the group
• Cost accounting and costing for individual product lines
• Implementation and management of Bill of Materials
• Maintenance of fixed asset register including asset grouping, reassessment of useful life, scrapping, reconciliation
• Management of audit process and provide external auditors with required information for annual financial audit
• Verification and payment process of weekly and monthly payments of wages and salaries, cashbook, creditors, any other ad-hoc payments
• Preparing and submitting of monthly and annual statutory returns of a financial nature
• Setting up annual and operational budgets, including cash flow budgets
• Preparation and submission of all SARS related forms
• Oversee HR related audits, report preparation for statutory documents, including customer Ethical Audits, Employment Equity, Workplace Skill Plan, B-BBEE, other Department of Labour requirements

Requirements

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

• Relevant degree or professional qualification; CA/CIMA, BComm in Financial/Management Accounting
• At least 3 to 5 years experience in a financial accounting role, with at least 1 to 2 years in a manufacturing environment
• Understanding of manufacturing processes
• Cost accounting
• A strong leader that gains the respect and support from the team members
• Ability to develop and coach team members
• Computer literacy and strong presentation skills essential
• A creative individual with an eye for detail and accuracy
• Experience in Pastel Evolution and Pastel Payroll
