Blue Smarty is a small design and advertising studio based in Durban. We are looking for a freelance sales account manager to expand our customer base, working on and off site in a very relaxed and informal working environment.

The sales account manager will work on a freelance basis and will be responsible primarily to sell our services to corporate companies around (but not restricted to) Durban including directly to PR and digital marketing agencies. They will then be responsible for managing the new account thereafter, liaising directly with the client, taking briefings and relaying them to the design team.

Remuneration will be paid as follows: If client signs on to a retainer, the sales account manager will earn 20% of the value of the monthly retainer per month for the duration of the retainer. If the client chooses to be on an ad-hoc billing arrangement, the sales account manager will earn 20% of clients monthly billing.

The sales account manager will have the freedom to work from the location of their choosing but will be required to attend client meetings and check in with us at our offices when required.

Key functions:

• New business and client acquisition
• Send quotations and respond to quote requests
• Meet with client as often as client requires it to take briefs from client and brief in creative team
• Maintain client relationship

Requirements:

• Matric 
• Sales and marketing qualification or any relevant qualification
• Computer literacy
• Understanding of the advertising and media industry
• Minimum 12 months of proven sales experience preferably advertising account management experience within an agency environment
• Laptop
• Drivers licence and car
