Our high-growth firm is seeking an experienced and professional Finance Manager to join our team. This position will play a key role in the organisation’s growth phase. The Finance Manager will collaborate with the executive management team to help set-up a new division and work closely with the staff in the new division.

Job summary

The Finance Manager is responsible for all aspects of financial management, ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures. This role builds the capacity of the new division finance team.  S/he oversees the day-to-day work of the finance department and is responsible for the effective use and deployment of staff and financial resources. The Finance Manager is based in the in the Cape Town office and s/he travels regularly to JHB

Financial management

• Assist the Chief Operating Officer (COO) in setting up the new division, this may take up to three months
• Mange the full financial management function for the new division once fully operational
• Assist the COO to recruit finance staff
• Produce and distribute monthly management report to agreed time lines
• Develop annual budgets in collaboration with the EXCO team
• Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements relating to financial control, financial management and accounting
• Ensure appropriate external audit arrangements are in place and manage the audit process
• Ensure that all balance sheet reconciliations are produced on an accurate and timely basis to include bank reconciliations, debtors, creditors and inter-company account
• Ensure implementation and adherence to finance policies, procedures and systems across all teams

Requirements

Qualifications and skills required

• Bachelor’s Degree in finance, accounting (honours preferred)
• Five+ years’ experience in a financial management position
• proven strategic planning experience at the management level
• proficient in microsoft excel and power point
