Job Purpose:
Lecturing and academic delivery of first and second year Fashion Illustration Techniques module.
To further develop basic skills required for fashion illustration. Students develop a more detailed understanding of anatomy.
Distinctive fabric variations are rendered and applied to the fashion figure.
Accessories are incorporated in illustrations along with basic style variations.
In second year to create opportunities for students to use a variety of skills, mediums and techniques in combination with one another to experiment with various illustration styles.
Illustration skills need to be applied to draw complex poses, detailed stylisations and specifications.
Students learn how to apply fabric rendering skills to successfully illustrate a variety of garment textures.
Education:
Ideal:
Masters in Fashion Design (MA or MTech)
Master in Fine Arts (MA or MTech)
Masters in Graphic Design (MA or MTech) (or a similar qualification)
Alternatively:
Honours in Fashion Design
Honours in Fine Arts
Honours in Graphic Design (or a similar qualification)
Work Experience:
Prior teaching or tutoring experience in Fashion Illustration or Illustration is an advantage.
Requirements
Key Performance Area:
Deliver the module in such a manner as to achieve the stated subject outcomes within the assigned contact hours.
The assessment of student work within the stipulated marking and moderation cycle and provide constructive feedback to students and reporting any students concerns to the Student Relations Co-ordinator.
Class preparation and development of lesson plans in a constructivist learning approach.
Proactively participates in Vega events, such as Open Days, Graduation and others.
Arrange for the appropriate guest lecturer to support application to the world of work.
Operate in line with The Independent Institute of Education’s (The IIE) policies.
