A well-regarded promo house is looking for a talented and hip senior copywriter/promo director to join their team.

The right person for this role will have an in-depth understanding and passion for South African local interest, from trends, fashion, TV and music, to general pop culture. Not only that, but you will understand and talk “kasi taal”.

Responsibilities 

• Conceptualising promos for local entertainment TV channels
• Presenting to team and client
• Short-form copywriting
• Leading and managing a team of creatives
• Inspiring and motivating one’s team
• Consistently researching localised trends

Requirements

• Qualification in copywriting or short-form scriptwriting
• Minimum six t eight years of short-form experience
• Proficient in English
• Must deal exceptionally well with client
• Strong leadership skills
• Excellent presentation skills
• Creative thinker
• Team player
• Positive attitude
• Interest in hyper-localised trends
• Ethical

Beneficial 

• Experience within the broadcasting industry
• Directing experience
• Speak Zulu, Xhosa or Afrikaans
• Knowing how to pronounce “gqom“
