This national manufacturing company is currently looking for a Logistics Specialist for their East London plant, to co-ordinate and plan production requirements based on customer demands and order priorities. Forecast and control Raw Material requirements and procurement and ensure on time-finished goods deliveries to end customer. Logistics of all inbound and outbound materials, Receiving and Dispatch. Manage relationships with customers and key suppliers.
Minimum Qualification and Experience Required:
- Matric.
- Degree/Diploma in Supply Chain Management.
- Receiving and dispatch experience.
- Logistics of all Inbound and Outbound materials.
- Complete basic business calculations.
- Quality (ISO9001/TS16949 knowledge.
- MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook).
Key Performance Areas:
Logistics:
- Receiving customer demand and verify accuracy
- Plan Raw material requirements based on demand
- Ensure on time in full deliveries of raw materials
- Ensure incoming raw materials quality procedures are followed
- Assist in production planning
- Ensure maintenance of required finished good stock levels
- Ensure on time in full deliveries to customers
- Co-ordinate and monitor the receiving of goods and raw materials into fixed stock locations, transfers to WIP and dispatch of finished
- Maintain required inventory and finished good stock levels
- Prepare raw material test certificates for laboratory
- Ensure correct stock handling
- Move, pack and maintain stock in the warehouse
- Receive stores requisitions and co-ordinate issuing
- Count stock for a stock take integrity check
- Conduct Cycle counts
SHEQ:
- Identify potential hazards and critical safety issues in the workplace
- Address workplace hazards and risks
- Work safely and use safety equipment
- Comply with the requirements of the Logistics Quality Systems
- Operate according to standard operating procedures and within the parameters of applicable legislation
Finance:
- Monitoring, control and negotiating of raw material prices together with management
- Monitoring and control of freight costs
- Participate in the Audit process
- Adhere to Financial Policies and Procedures
- Protect company assets (working capital & fixed assets)
- Detect and prevent fraud
- Promote good Corporate Governance
Customer:
- Interact with internal and external customers
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify improvement opportunities and make recommendations for improvement.
