We are looking for a data analyst to work within our data planning and analytics team.
Who Ogilvy needs…
You are passionate about data, and using data to drive modern marketing. The successful candidate will be responsible for working with a portfolio of clients. You need an excellent, in-depth level of knowledge of the methodologies, tools and approaches for doing analytics, reporting and insights. You will be working with data from digital, through-the-line, CRM and social marketing sources; from client first-party and third-party data; and from various MarTech platforms and insights tools.
Ogilvy Data Planning and Analytics is a dynamic and innovation-driven environment. Sometimes you will be doing reporting work that’s been done before; often you will be helping to define new ways to interpret and collect data so that we can understand our client’s businesses and customers – and then track our marketing and engagement work with impeccable accuracy and clarity. And then you’ll be figuring out how we optimise that knowledge to help make brands matter.

What you will be doing:
Every month has a different client and internal opportunities and problems-to-solve. In general, a month will include:
Reporting and analysis
- Reporting on key metrics, analysing and interpreting trends and providing actionable insights based on available analytics data
- Analysing the effect of different online and offline channels on each other and developing and implementing innovative strategies for improvement and growth
- Analysing online user behaviour, conversion data and customer journeys, funnel analysis and multi-channel attribution
- Performing ROI analysis to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of different marketing campaigns
- Performing ad-hoc analytics and conversion optimisation consultancies for clients and influencing conversion optimisation strategies with solid analytical data
Data-driven insights
- What it says: using data, tools and your own skill and experience to mine for insights around audiences, campaigns, clients, sectors, industries and more.
Analytical and technical
- Providing consultancy on campaign tagging and additional on-site tracking
- Spotting potential to implement innovative new methodologies and improve the analytical procedure
- Using available data sources to deep dive and troubleshoot campaign (and overall) performance issues and propose methodical optimisation tests, both on-site and campaign based
Inter- and intra agency collaboration
- Identifying and exploring opportunities to cross-sell services and support new client acquisition
- Collaborating with the design and development teams
- Collaborating with the search and social teams to enhance client reporting and performance measurement and conduct detailed analysis work when required
- Experience in working within a marketing/business intelligence environment
Campaign strategy and measurement
- Identifying client objectives and advising on suitable measurement strategies
- Benchmarking performance across all online channels and
- Development of KPI framework
- Ensuring relevant tracking is put in place
- Using methodical performance analysis to influence/support campaign strategies
Client and internal focus
- Delivering regular reporting and analysis documentation to clients and presenting findings or test results to clients.
- Representing the data planning and analytics team in client meetings and pitch presentations
- Assisting in educating clients and internal teams on the importance of data planning and analytics
Requirements
To apply for the role you must have:
- Minimum of three years’ proven experience in a data-focused role (data analytics, data planning, campaign management and evaluation, data strategy, data modelling)
- Good knowledge of and experience in working with a range of data analytics tools (CRM, digital analytics, social media listening, data visualisation, Excel, R, etc.)
- High level of experience in data analysis techniques, as well as excellent knowledge of data sources (internal/external data, 1st party / 3rd party, data enrichment)
- Experience or significant understanding of working with optimisation tools for A/B and multivariate testing
- Strong proficiency in Excel
- Experience in Adobe Analytics/Omniture/AEM/AMC would be beneficial
- It would be unlikely that you don’t know the Google Suite well
- Highly numerical and analytical mindset
- Attention to detail
- Confidence in presenting internally and externally
- A passion for data and using data to inform strategic planning
Also needed:
- Proven internal and external stakeholder management skills
- Proficient in Word and PowerPoint/Keynote for producing client reports and presentations
