Awesome art director seeks a copywriter. 

We know. It sounds like we’re flirting. 

And in a sense we are.

Durban’s number one creative agency is looking for a young and dynamic writer to join our quest for world domination.

We’re part of an international network and our client list is just fantastic. You’ll get to work on everything from top newspaper brands to bottled water and bricks. Even salt. 

It really is diverse. 

Challenging? That’s for sure. You’ll be tasked with creating amazing work for everything from below-the-line and in-store promotions, to above-the-line and digital communication. Your social media skills need to be on point as well. 

Teamwork? Absolutely. You have to be a team player. You’ll be paired with that art director we mentioned in the headline, but will also work closely with designers. 

But just to be clear: we’re looking for a real copywriter. Not just someone who thinks that having a social media account or blog is enough. It’s not. This is not suitable for journalists and bloggers. We want someone with big ideas. It’s not just about writing – you have to be strong conceptually. 

Your portfolio is far more important than your CV. In fact, we probably won’t even look at your CV if your portfolio doesn’t make us sit up and take notice. Please do not apply if you do not have a portfolio.
 
Skills required

• Relevant degree/diploma from a recognised institution
• Industry experience – preferably at a reputable agency
• Conceptually brilliant
• A portfolio that reflects your passion and talent
• Integrated communications experience
• An understanding of production processes and experience in executing work

Personal skills/attributes

• Creativity is obviously essential, and not limited to the field of advertising
• You have to be a hard worker
• An eye for detail
• Multitasking skills
• Humility
• Fearlessness

• Great presentation skills

Remuneration

Negotiable based on experience and qualification.

Preference will be given to AA candidates.
