KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

- To provide inter-disciplinary teaching capacity across undergraduate and postgraduate levels
- Facilitate creative transformation of curriculum content at undergraduate and postgraduate level
- Supervise postgraduate research with particular focus on Race, Gender, and Labour Histories.
- Undertake innovative research that expands sociological knowledge foundations in Africa.
- Participate in engagement within the university and wider community
- Undertake administrative duties within the sociology programme and the department at large
- Facilitation of workshops, seminars, public lectures and conferences

- Knowledge of foundational areas of Sociological Theoretical Approaches
- Knowledge of major approaches in Social Science/Humanities research methods
- Ability to incorporate Interdisciplinary approaches into Sociology teaching
- Ability to teach, manage and conduct assessments for large undergraduate classes
- Teaching and research capability towards a transformed Sociology curriculum

REQUIREMENTS
|
|
- MA in Sociology OR qualification in a cognate Humanities/Social Science discipline where candidate has had teaching experience in university-level Sociology
- Experience in facilitating learning at higher education both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
- Demonstrable potential to conduct research for publication in accredited scholarly journals.
