Job description

Our Nomad Now client – an end-to-end ICT service provider with a presence in SA, the rest of Africa, Europe, the Middle-East and Australia, is searching for a senior systems engineer (with a minimum of five years’ of experience) to lead project implementations and to provide support and mentorship to the operational engineers.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain baseline architectures for all Infrastructure services provided by Altron BSI 
• Investigate new and better ways of doing things across all Infrastructure Solutions Services at Illovo
• Assess and report on the mitigation of risk-prone areas
• Investigate integration opportunities to automate and improve on current service
• Assist with the upgrade of existing products
• Assist with the implementation and rollout of the customer’s initiatives throughout the year, working closely with Operations Managers
• Assist with cross-functional requirements that have touchpoints on other areas of the customer’s infrastructure that is not directly supported by Altron BSI
• Responsible for compiling Technical (Architecture) documentation
• Responsible for Service Transition i.e. Build to Run space Education

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Senior System Engineer / Technical Lead
• Minimum: Gr12 / NQF4 and an IT Diploma or relevant B-degree
• ITIL foundation certification
• Microsoft Certifications: MCSA, MCSE etc.
• Cisco Certification CCNA (Routing and Switching)
