Logistics Manager (fleet)
An established building products company, based in the Eastern Cape with its head office in East London, seeks to employ a Logistics Manager. The position covers the logistics for the entire group, who’s operations include commercial quarries, utilizing mined materials, and manufacturing construction / building industry products at their production yards in the Eastern Cape.
Minimum requirements:
Relevant tertiary qualification preferred
Grade 12 with extensive experience in similar role
Responsibilities:
Inbound Logistics Management
• Manage and plan all production raw material requirements for each business unit.
• Manage all inbound stock movements centrally through group level demand requirements.
• Assess logistics fleet capacity against production requirements plan.
Outbound Logistics Management
• Manage all outbound deliveries within the group (Retail, Manufacturing, Key Accounts).
• Manage 3rd Party Logistics supplier relationships to the company
• Conduct regular quality audits for the outbound logistics function across the group structure.
• Report and Manage outstanding deliveries to customers and implement corrective action where necessary.
Inventory Management:
• Monitor and assess raw material stock levels for production
• Manage Depot retail stock availability
• Coordinate and plan inter-branch stock transfers between entities within the group.
• Ensure budgeted/target inventory levels are maintained within each business unit.
• Plan and execute annual cycle inventory counts
Warehousing Management
• Oversee full running of the retail Distribution Centre
• Manage all bulk stock transfers between divisions
• Manage all inbound warehouse requirements for the warehouses.
• Monitor product damages within a warehousing context.
• Ensure Occupational Health and Safety compliance
• Conduct monthly quality and standardisation warehousing audits
Production/Planning Management
• Monitor group sales and operations plan. Organise production plan to meet monthly sales budgetary requirements.
• Evaluate BOM (Bill of Material requirements) for various production sites.
Stakeholder Management
• Maintain clear communication channels amongst employees of each division.
• Manage and sustain key relationships with suppliers
• Ensure sufficient staffing requirements within logistics department and promote upskilling/empowerment of key staff.
