Adjustments Controller
A logistics concern is seeking an Adjustments Controller to process VOC’s and duty refunds in order to ensure that they do not become time barred including weekly audits on the Custom Tariffs Parts Library on the operating system.

Job requirements :
– Matric Certificate / equivalent
– At least 4 years customs Bill of Entry experience
– Customs Affairs Course under SAAFF / MITB Accreditation
– Strong proven experience in an Adjustments environment
– Working knowledge of Customs issues
– Previous knowledge of MIDP Process would be an advantage
– Good working knowledge of Incoterms
– Good working knowledge of the Customs Tartiffs, HS Explanatory Notes, Guide to Customs Valuation, Incoterms, Customs and Excise Act and the rules is essential
– Working knowledge of Portnet and SACD procedures regarding FL and LCL containers would be an advantage
– Able to work independently
– Letter writing skills
– Able to clearly express their point of view when the letter of motivation is submitted to Customs
Duties :
– Ensure that applications for refund of duty are submitted to customs so that they do not become time barred
– Facilitate all related queries and refunds
– Make applications and processing of substitution bill of entry
– Process duty refunds and any duty drawback refund claims in respect of schedule 1.3 and 5
– Processing CO2 refunds and relevant VOC adjustments
– Arranging Customs officials to conduct EWOP examinations when necessary to resolve tariff and other customs related issues
– Finalise outstanding stop notes and audit queries where applicable
– Update the PP and refund schedule regularly and elevate and problems
– Ensure all aspects of Business Compliance System are complied with
– Audit the Customs Tariff Parts Library for the Auto clients on the operating system
– Adhoc assignments as required
– Promote and monitor safety in the workplace
– Report all non conformance related to good housekeeping standards and / or safety
– Ensure invoices and credit notes are processed correctly
– Outstanding recons are actioned timeously
– Arrange credits to clients for duties refunded by customs
