Assistant To The Financial Accountant
This position is responsible for providing support to the financial accountant by completing routine clerical, administrative and accounting tasks.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Preparing and maintaining accounting documents such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, bills and invoices.
- Keeping financial records updated, preparing reports and reconciling bank statements.
- Coordinating internal and external audits
- Managing day to day transactions
- Provide assistance and support to the Financial accountant
- Handle administrative requests and queries
- Organise and schedule appointments
- Plan meetings and take detailed minutes
- Maintain appropriate filing system
- Ensuring the efficient and smooth day to day running of the finance office
- Manage and order office supplies
- Liaise with senior management to handle requests and queries
- Communicate with suppliers
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- At least an undergraduate degree or diploma in accounting or bookkeeping
- At least 5 years relevant work experience
- Knowledge and experience in an accounting software, like Pastel
SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience in administrative, bookkeeping or clerical work
- Familiarity with basic accounting procedures
- Competency in MS Office and accounting software
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Well organised
