Training this cohort of General Education and Training (GET) and Further Education and Training (FET) Band Subject Advisors is meant to ensure that the department mantains the 2017 results increase even this year.
“This year, we are going to do things differently, we have less time and cant wait any longer to execute our improvement plans. These subject advisors should know from the onset that we mean business, and for those idling and loafing, consequence management is eminent”, said Makupula.
The departmental leadership led by the Head of Department (HoD), Themba Kojana will also meet these newly appointees to outline this year’s plan and targets.
During this training, the department will also induct and capacitate these Subject Advisors on what is expected of them including monitoring school performance, accountability, adherance to policy, basic school functionality guide and available support methods for needy schools.
The media is especially invited to this first formal government session since the release of results by the Education MEC early this year. Attending journalists will be afforded one on one interviews with both the MEC and the HoD.
