Automation Technical Account Executive (Port Elizabeth)

Establish and maintain relationships with prospects and customers to generate sales in the automation field.
Duties
- Visit allocated accounts within region regularly to maintain and establish relationships
- Develop annual Business Plans for allocated key accounts
- Submit weekly call plans
- Provide accurate customer information for quoting and order processing stages
- Inform customers on the Wonderware solution-set for customers to better utilise our software offering, to add value to their operations
- Understand the Customer install base
- Generate budget quotations as per customer request for new products
- Deliver formal quotations and proposals to customers professionally and timeously
- Always represent the face of the company professionally and ethically
- Ensure solution offered aligns with customer requirements
- Opportunities must be closed timeously
- Deliver monthly forecast to Sales Operations Manager
- Update CRM System with opportunities, contact and account information
- Continuously self-educate on industry trends, markets, sales processes and the solution offering
- Pre-and post-delivery activities
Skills and experience:
- Strong understanding of technical aspects PLCs/SCADAs/control instrumentation
- Engineering degree or diploma (advantageous)
- Matric
- Drivers licence
- Own vehicle
- Must reside in the PE area
- Experience in automation and MES is essential
Sales support
- Assist sales people to analyse customers’ requirements
- Advise customers on implementation strategy and methodology (S95)
- Solution presentations to customers
- Solution workshops with customers
- Build and present demonstrations
- Build and present proof of concepts and pilots
Project support
- Work with technical teams on meeting URS with product solutions
- On Site Customer/SI Project Consulting
- Project Audits
- Time spent on site will be agreed upon by the consultant
May be seconded to systems division for support on projects. This could include the following
- Writing Specifications
- Consulting on project implementation
- Quality assurance
Technical
- Keep up to date with product technical features and understand how the product is applied
- Understand the product licensing
- Keep Product Certification up to date
On site support could be one of the following
- Investigation/resolution technical support issue
- Assistance with product installation
- Assistance with product upgrade
- Report on every site visit
Technical knowledge base
- Submit articles to the technical knowledge base
- Initiate articles from your own experience regularly
- Maintain a high level of competency in the products that you specialise in
Marketing activities
- From time to time to assist with marketing activities like Conferences, Breakfasts, Golf days, etc.
- Prepare and present on the Wonderware Southern Africa products at marketing events.
