Banqueting manager required in Polokwane.

Requirements:
 

• Matric/grade 12 certificate
• Formal hospitality degree/diploma
• Three years’ experience as a banqueting manager within a five-star hotel
• Familiar with Hospitality terminology
• A friendly and welcoming approach
• High standards of dress and presentation
• Excellent skills in maintaining cleanliness and personal hygiene standards
• Ability to remain calm during difficult situations or in a very busy environment
• The ability to work unsupervised
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Excellent leadership and management skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to motivate and manage staff
• Good team working skills
• Exceptionally professional demeanor and very respectful attitude
• Dedicated and meticulous – high level of accurateness and attention to detail
• In-depth product knowledge of different kinds of food and beverages, including wine
• Excellent administration and organizational skills
• The ability to work accurately with figures
• Ability to manage the health, hygiene, safety and security in the workplace
• Valid code eight driver’s license and own transport

Duties (including but not limited to):

• Oversees all aspects of a banquet or event, including set-up, food presentation, serving and cleanup while focusing on detail and quality presentation and customer service
• Responsible for all aspects of supervision of banquet staff including training, coaching, disciplining and reviewing of staff
• Responsible for the execution of banquets
• Ensuring that Banquet set-ups are done according to company standards
• Staff management and training
• Guest liaison
