Job description
My client is one of the leading furniture and homeware retailers in South Africa, with stores nationwide. We focus on the dining, living and bedroom categories, with a special focus on our couch category.
My client is looking for an energetic, passionate brand manager who understands the beat of the retail environment, whilst applying their knowledge of brand awareness and communication.
The main purpose of this role is to help develop the marketing strategy, together with the marketing exec and ensure effective execution thereof in order to drive sales and meet marketing objectives.
Manage effective relationships between the store teams and various agencies/partners to ensure campaigns are understood, executed on brand and according to strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Liaise with instore teams on latest promotions, campaigns and ensure effective execution thereof
- Ensure all marketing material is distributed timely and correctly
- Contribute to team brainstorms and assist marketing exec to develop an action plan
- Ensure all parties within the marketing team are briefed on campaign activities and understand deadlines.
- Review and check all campaign details, ensuring artwork meets brand requirements and strategy goals, along with marketing exec
- Prepare reports on campaigns
- Help develop and optimise marketing campaigns
- Assist with the management and development of marketing budget
- Tracking of marketing campaigns and submission of all material to various media platforms
- Be creative and see the broader picture in terms of concepts, idea generation and execution. Manage each step of the execution process, from inception to execution and reporting.
- Liaise with various agencies ensuring they are briefed, deliver campaigns on time and brand.
Requirements
- Ability to work towards and meet tight deadlines
- Attention to detail will be very important; strong administrative skills
- Highly organised and efficient
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Multitasking
- Experience working with teams
Experience required:
- Minimum five years plus of marketing experience
- Experience within a retail environment
- Relevant marketing qualifications
- Knowledge of the digital environment would be advantageous
- Previous lifestyle brand experience would be advantageous
- Previous retail experience is a must
