Events and Function Coordinator Position
A position has opened for a dynamic events coordinator at a premier conference and events venue in Port Elizabeth. We are looking for a motivated individual to join our service orientated team. Our aim is to create memorable events that exceed our clients’ expectations. Responsibilities includes:
– Generate new business.
– Event management from enquiry to completion.
– Preparing documents according to company’s operating procedures.
– Working with clients to identify their needs and ensure customer satisfaction.
– Organizing facilities and details, including (not limited to) décor, catering and entertainment. – Maintain and develop professional event supplier relationships.
– Build and maintain productive business relationships. – Innovatively create exciting public events.
– Assist accounts department with financial features.
– Initiate new business ideas.
– Communicate with stakeholders regarding weekly and monthly planning. Requirements:
– Minimum 3 years in events coordination/hospitality (proof of functions and clients will be required)
– Basic computer skills .
– Some financial acumen – Excellent time management and communication skills.
– Ability to manage multiple projects independently & simultaneously.
– Maintain interpersonal communication channels among staff members.
– Exceptional attention to detail
– Adaptable and creative thinker

At least 2 years’ experience in wool and wool sorting General knowledge of RWS.
Excellent knowledge of sheep farming
Diploma in wool classing .
Computer skills.

Good communication skills.
Must be fully bilingual (Afrikaans and English) and understand and communicate in Afrikaans to a large extent .
Must be able to function efficiently and effectively under pressure.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Be willing to travel frequently and work after-hours. Responsibilities: Classification of wool within wool typing guidelines
Planning of daily activities of RWS and ZQ audits – internal and external .
Planning of RWS processes according to requirements .
Responsible to present RWS to producers Ensure that audits are monitored on a regular basis Managing audits according to workload
Responsible for preparation of external audits with Control union and New Zealand Merino Company
Set up a tour guide for tour groups visiting the warehouse.

Daily duties:
- Lead, manage document and implement training for standard material operating procedures with warehouse teams

Specific skills/qualifications:
- Matric three to four years of experience in all areas of production and distribution operations
- Awareness and strategic understanding of external influences such as legislation, fuel costs Strong communication skills as well as proven organisational skills.
- Our candidate will be customer facing and therefore excellent customer service skills are needed The ability to source suppliers and negotiate rates that are favourable and in line with budgets and targets
- Efficient expertise on time administration. Previous experience of managing people, including the ability to carry out personnel evaluations, set performance targets, engage new employees and identify and possibly deliver training
- Have effective decision-making skills as well as sound judgement and leadership ability
- Self-motivated, practical and resourceful
