Overview
An exciting opportunity for a committed and dedicated professional to form part of our newly accredited Higher Certificate in Performing Arts programme in 2020. The successful candidate will prepare students to either continue their studies in the Bachelor of Live Performance program or to join the Performance industry on an entry-level. The successful candidate needs to demonstrate a willingness to embrace AFDA’s unique pedagogy which is the basis of the applied and integrated work-simulated learning environment at AFDA. Key Functions
The role can be summarised as follows:
Devising termly timetables, course guides, lectures and associated assessment instruments in conjunction with their AFDA counterparts on other campuses
o Implementing and reviewing the above with the purpose of improvement
Responsible for teaching core modules.
Will be required to identify suitable part time staff for additional teaching
o Booking, briefing, managing and reviewing part time lecturing ad hoc staff
Managing the day-to-day implementation of the programme, including facilities and equipment management
Preparing budgets and overseeing the acquisition of materials and equipment required for the implementation of the programme
Adhering to the requirements of management structures that ensure the delivery and quality of the programme

Willingness to adapt to AFDA’s curriculum, syllabus and methodologies.

Selection criteria
Preferably an Honours degree.
Proven experience in areas of Live Performance
At least one year of established experience in lecturing or tutoring at Tertiary level

Evidence of desire to teach

Background
Wits Health Consortium (Pty) Limited (“WHC”) is a wholly owned Company of the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg (South Africa) under its Faculty of Health Sciences. WHC provides Faculty with a legal framework within which to operate the research and other activities necessary to support its academic objectives. In addition WHC offers a range of products and services to the Academics conducting these activities in order to assist with the management thereof.
Main purpose of the job
To manage a registered Pharmacy specialising in clinical research and ensuring that medication is effectively mixed and dispensed to clinical trial patients
Location
NeMACRU, Mthatha
Key performance areas
Manage and maintain a registered Pharmacy
Manage the Pharmacy in accordance with ICH GCP and GPP guidelines
Formalise and implement standard operating procedures
Attend to sponsor or Pharmacy queries via email or face-to-face meetings
Manage and control the labeling of all drugs and generation of patient labels
Interpret prescriptions and dispense medicines accordingly
Oversee the replacement of all medication and consumables
Mix and dispense trial medications timeously and accurately to patients using the centralised patient scheduling process
Quality control drug accountability
Administer process and file relevant documentation
Manage and oversee the Pharmacy’s stock
Orders medicines (scheduled, cold chain, comparative, concomitant and basic) from suppliers to ensure sufficient stock
Check invoices prior to processing payment
Manage the packing and labeling of medicines
Administer, process and file relevant documentation
Required minimum education and training
B.Pharmacy Degree
Certification in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) will be an advantage
Valid driver’s license preferable
Required minimum work experience
Minimum 3 years’ experience
Clinical trial environment experience would be an advantage
Professional body registration
South African Pharmacy Council
Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities
Ordered and systematic with strict compliance to protocols
Be tactful, respectful and maintain confidentiality
Ability to prioritise own work load and work to tight time scales
Sound knowledge on drugs and mixing procedures
Attention to detail
Exceptional organisational and administrative skills are required together with working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Able to exercise discretion and independent decision-making

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Ensure effective maintenance and repair of all machinery and equipment at the Silos / Animal Feed Plant and ensure compliance with Health and Safety rules and regulations. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education:
• Grade 12 (Std 10) Academic or Technical qualification and relevant post-school qualification.
• Minimum 3 years experience as a Maintenance Technician at an Animal Feed plant. Applicants would need to demonstrate that they have a proven track record and the necessary knowledge, competencies, skills and personal capabilities to be successful in the position. Skills and Competencies:
• The person must have mechanical and maintenance skills and knowledge.
• Must have good knowledge with regard to the following areas of competence:
o Electronics especially the maintenance of electric motors, generators, and compressors;
o Welding and cutting chain
o Pick up elevator, transfer chains, conveyor belts
o Auger and hammer mills.
o Pill machines and steam boilers.
• Good communication, planning, organizing skills and the ability to work under pressure are a prerequisite.
• The person will have to provide evidence of:
o The planning and execution of the maintenance function by drawing up a maintenance schedule for the plant, meeting the maintenance tasks according to the schedule, reporting the condition of the plant on a monthly basis.
o Effective new installations, by doing the installations according to agreed standards and timelines, ensuring the timely availability of parts and documentation.
o Make timely and correct repairs, correct evaluation of the problem or breakage, communicate and coordinate actions with production personnel, ensure that the correct tools and parts are available, ensure the safety standards are applied as well as the proper cleaning and cleaning of the workplace.
o Ensure that equipment and machinery are checked regularly with routine inspections. The necessary maintenance must be performed. Personal characteristics:
