Our client is seeing a SHERQ Manager to join their team and Quality Department.

Purpose of the position :
•Coordinate the activities required for the Quality Management Systems, monitor and advise on the performance of the quality management system and produce data and reports on performance and company quality objectives.
•Ensure processes and products conform to company and customer requirements; ensure company Quality objectives and targets (PPM’s, etc.) are achieved; motivate the quality improvement for products and processes.
Job requirements :
– Grade 12
– Tertiary education.
– At least 5 years’ experience in the plastics manufacturing environment
– Total Quality Management techniques, City & Guiles or CQT/E
– Supervisory training
– Must have expertise in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint (Preferably experienced with databases)
– Experience in the compilation of management data reporting – Filing and indexing must be of a high level.
– IATF 16949 implementation.
– ISO14001 implementation
– Fully bilingual
Experience and understanding of :

– Control Plan techniques (quality techniques training)
– Calibration techniques (quality techniques training)
– APQP / PPAP / PSW techniques (quality techniques training)

Duties :
•Promoting quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the organisation.
•Setting QA compliance objectives and ensuring that targets are achieved.
•Maintaining awareness of the business context and company profitability, including budgetary control issues.
•Assessing the product specifications of the company and its suppliers, and comparing with customer requirements, i.e. certificates of conformance, etc.
•Working with purchasing to establish quality requirements from external suppliers.
•Ensuring compliance with national and international standards and legislation.
•Considering the application of environmental and health and safety standards.
•Agreeing standards and establishing clearly defined quality methods for staff to apply.
•Defining quality procedures in conjunction with operating staff.
•Setting up and maintaining controls and documentation procedures.
•Identifying relevant quality-related training needs.
•Collating and analysing performance data and charts against defined parameters.
•Ensuring tests and procedures are properly understood, carried out and evaluated and that product modifications comply with requirements.
•Manage corrective actions and the G8D process.
•Control all customer/internal drawings/specifications/PSW’s and master samples to the appropriate engineering levels.
•Ensure that all corrective actions raised for either system, product of process are closed off.
•Review all non-conforming products and ensure that effective correction action is taken to prevent recurrence.
•Ensure customer is notified of any non-conformances that have to be shipped to customers. This could be due to test evaluation failure or cross check evaluation failure of raw material etc.
•Ensure that applicable deviations/concessions are valid and clearly displayed prior to shipment.
•Writing technical and management systems reports.
•Bringing together staff of different disciplines and driving the group to plan, formulate and agree comprehensive quality procedures.
•Persuading reluctant staff to change their way of working to incorporate quality methods.
•Liaising with customers’ auditors and ensuring the execution of corrective action and compliance with customer specifications.
•Establishing standards of service for customers or clients.
•Preparing clear explanatory documents such as customers’ charters.
•Monitoring performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports where required.
•Complying, in line with the Management Policy Document, departmental procedures and practices.
•Control of any company expenditure, which may be entrusted to you, in line with the overall company budget.
