OUTPUTS

  • Lead and Implementation equipment and tooling project in adherence to the company’s Buy-off procedure
  • Lead equipment Buy-off coordination meetings with Process Engineering and Production
  • Supports production on the shop floor to verify equipment readiness status and monitors any build concerns during Engineering Trials/ Baulos 4, PTs, Launch and Change Implementation
  • Provides contact for special short-term projects as deemed important by management
  • Reviews new tooling requirements as coming from Series Planning Assembly Line Planners within their respective work areas
  • Provides sketches and design proposals for new tooling / equipment modifications as an input for subsequent fabrication of tooling / equipment
  • Timing coordination in project plan (MS Project/ Rplan)
  • Responsible for leading onsite project meetings
  • Support of the entire assembly building process and interface between internal departments and external partners
  • Check the documentation, design and drawings of the external planning partners and contractors for equipment (e.g. Manipulators)
  • Act as a multidisciplinary liaison between supplier, facility, and the Project Team to ensure equipment i.e., conveyors, steel mezzanines etc., are accurately implemented according to company standards.
  • Perform and document machine and process capability measurements according to the „Masterliste“ to ensure the equipment meets the quality requirements of the assembled product
  • Meet department goal in terms of quality, timing and costs of the assigned facilities

REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to communicate in English
  • Advantageous: professional German language proficiency
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly verbally and in writing
  • Good Knowledge in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS-Project)
  • Work Experience with the company equipment and tooling related issues, project organisation, problem solving
  • Advantageous: 5 years’ experience in Production Planning or related fields
  • Drafting skills, Out-of-the box thinking
  • Willingness to work in a team and international environment
  • Assignment requires substantial international and domestic travel
  • Weekend and holiday work on site as needed
  • Ability to perform the minimum required physical and mental requirements of the function
  • Very important: Project coordination and self-initiative
  • Good technical understanding
  • Monthly bill rate

QUALIFICATION

  • Minimum NQF 7 – bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field requirements or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5 years’ experience in Production Planning or related fields

  • On-site responsibility during the absence of equipment planner and support during the presence of equipment planner for all Trim Gluing Cells/ Gluing Equipment and Plug-In Cell
  • Support of the implementation of equipment and tooling projects in adherence to the company Buy-off procedure.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Advantageous: Work Experience with the company specific gluing equipment and tooling related issues, project management, problem solving.
  • Good Computer Skills (MS Office – Advanced Excel, Power Point & Word)
  • Ability to fluently communicate in English
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly verbally and in writing in English
  • Willing to work in an international environment
  • Willingness to work in a team
  • Willingness to work on weekend and holiday on site as needed
  • Ability to perform the minimum required physical and mental requirements of the function
  • Assignment requires substantial international and domestic travel
  • Very important: Project coordination and self-initiative

QUALIFICATION

  • Minimum NQF 7 (new) – BTech Industrial Engineering or relevant equivalent

Our client in the automotive industry is currently looking for a Pilot Hall Engineer (Vehicle Electronics) with experience to join their dynamic team.

Type of Position:

The Pilot Hall Engineer will be responsible for using the vehicle diagnostic system (Engineering tools) to repair vehicle electronic issues, establish root causes and implement corrective actions for allocated problems.

Job Description and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating Pre-Series build in liaison with supporting departments
  • Supporting of Pre-Series / O-Series and SOP build phases relevant to facility functionality, electrical improvements, quality improvements and project related problem with special reference to the manufacturing and preparation of special vehicles which may include Motorshow and Press Vehicles.
  • Investigating build / audit related problems (root cause analysis, establishment and implementation of corrective actions)
  • Supporting Production and Quality in achieving quality targets ( Production targets / Final Vehicle audit)
  • Understanding and analyzing Electrical Reports
  • Repair, maintain and configure UPS equipment
  • Reading and understanding harness drawings

Education and Experience:

  • N Diploma in Electrical Engineering (an electrical trade would be advantageous)
  • 3 to 5 years technical experience in the automotive industry

Skills, Attributes & Other requirements:

  • Experienced and extensive knowledge of the vehicle production process
  • Know the vehicle electrical systems (brakes, airbag, lights etc)
  • Know how to do a CAN trace
  • Be able to distinguish the different BUS systems and the development of interchangeable UPS-Programs
  • Have good analytical skills relevant to solving of vehicle build / audit related problems.
  • Have good communication skills
  • Must be a team player

Preferred:

  • Have the ability to speak and read German – advantageous
