Well established Publisher of Trade Magazines requires the services of an experienced Layout Artist urgently.

They publish a number of titles monthly and bi-monthly – the studio works collectively as a team, therefore it is a work from their premises option, not work from home.

Previous experience working on either consumer or trade magazines is essential as is superior skill on the Mac (Creative Suite version 6).

Requirements

* 3 – 5 years’ layout experience in a publishing environment
* 90% of work is layout, 10% is creative
* Graphic designers will not be considered for this role
* Solid technical skills and expert use of the full Creative Suite 6
* Fast, accurate and exceptional attention to detail
* Ability to work in a team environment working on multiple projects

Job description

A leading and award winning ACTIVATION; EXPERIENTIAL , Event management, Brand activation & Multi Media agency in JHB is looking for a SENIOR AD or GAD who will be primarily responsible for the management of relationships with clients (FMCG).  As the senior point of contact for the agency’s customers, the candidate will co-ordinate the resources needed to service projects, build strategic operational plans and balance the expectations of clients with the execution of creative work.

The candidate will be expected to plan campaigns, and successfully develop business accounts creatively and financially.

Daily Output will include:
– Taking a lead in clients’ marketing, activation, experiential and advertising strategies
– Leading a team to provide the utmost level of client service
– Liaising with clients at a senior level on a day-to-day basis
– Promoting the expansion of business with existing clients
– Working with other senior managers to generate new accounts
– Completing projects to a specific schedule and within an agreed budget
– Using your skills to push clients, and the agency, creatively and strategically
–  Travel is required for client visits, new business presentations, planning, activations around the country and brief taking. Although your commitment will tend to be standard office hours, deadlines or the demands of a client may see you working early or late to ensure continued success.

• Significant experience in professional client relationship management (6 + years)
• A background in advertising, activations or marketing from a leading and award winning agency
• The ability to plan and strategise at a senior level
• A persuasive and confident approach to creative projects
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Effective team management capabilities
• A keen attention to detail and budgetary restraints
• Full awareness of creative processes and techniques – including digital platforms
• 360 through the line campaign experience including experiential and activation campaigns.
• Can come from leading and award winning traditional above the line agency with 360 campaign experience

Main responsibilities

• To robustly grow the digital advertising revenue.
• To analyse and identify business solutions for The Citizen’s website and sell it to relevant advertisers.
• To service and maintain good customer relationships with the clients and agencies.
• Create tailored solutions which meet the client’s communication objectives.

Requirements

• Minimum two years of digital advertising sales experience.
• Minimum two years’ experience working with Media agencies.
• Market knowledge and insights.
• Ability to establish and maintain business relationships both with direct clients and with agencies.
• Sales or marketing diploma (IMM/AAA) an advantage.
• Previous experience within the media industry.
• Strong digital skills which will include:

Statistics, concepts and terminology, Benefits and pricing models, Key performance metrics and laws / guidelines.

Other requirements:

• Matric qualification a must
• Valid driver’s license a must
• Own transport essential
• Own cellphone
