Duties:
Traditional software development in high-level languages such as C# and Java.
Customisation of research data such as RedCap, Survey Solutions, and DataFax.
Pulling together datasets/creating analytical datasets for statistical analysis (R, SAS, Stata).
Utilising big data to prepare and analyse datasets.
Data management and large-scale system development.
Using machine learning techniques/applications for predictive analysis.
Liaising with key stakeholders and scientists internationally to develop the information systems imperative for major positive impact on the medical industry.
Working within an Agile environment.
Database design and development.
Creating data visualisation dashboards with BI reporting tools.
Requirements:
Development experience within a large-scale system environment.
Data management and creating insights for data-driven decision-making.
Database design and development (SQL Server/PostgreSQL/MySQL).
ETL experience with SSIS/Pentaho.
Experience with high-level software development with languages such as C# or Java.
Experience working with big data/machine learning (Hadoop, Spark, Cloud, R).
Data visualisation reporting tools (PowerBI, QlikView, Tableau, etc.).
ITIL, COBIT, and/or DAMA DMBOK.
Based in Durban/willing to relocate to Durban.
Advantageous:
Experience with datasets within the medical/scientific field.
Experience with bio-informatics and computational biology systems.
