- Liaise regularly with students and act as a student mentor.

MRU (MatCH Research Unit) is a division of the Wits Health Consortium under the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of the University of the Witwatersrand. We are committed to supporting the millennium development goals aimed at gender equity, maternal and child health and combatting HIV. Our work focuses on sexual and reproductive health with research and we conduct clinical, behavioural, operations and implementation science research and support health systems strengthening including capacity building and technical support.
Main Purpose of the Job
- To provide best practice data collection, clinical assessments, comprehensive counselling and management, collection and processing of specimens and care according to protocols and to provide HIV testing
- To screen and enrol participants into the study, and to conduct on-going follow-up based on the research protocols

Key Performance Areas
- • Participant recruitment, consenting, enrolment and counselling according to protocol
- • Obtain medical history and perform physical examinations and STI/RTI assessments

- Drawing and preparing blood samples
Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities

- Diploma in Primary Health Care or similar in preferable
- GCP Certification
