A leading petrochemical company seeks the expertise of a SAP solution analyst. Your core role will be management of the System Development Lifecycle, IT Services including incidents, service requests and problems, data and systems management and documenting business solutions, compiling end-user guides/manuals and providing input to training material. The ideal candidate requires a BCom/BSc/IT-related (NQF Level 6) tertiary qualification, have 3 year’s SAP experience (FI, CO, PS, IM, PPM, FSCM, Treasury), two years as a solution manager and a year Active/ASAP methodology. Please note this is an Employment Equity position only.
Duties:
System Development Lifecycle Management (SDLC) – work orders/enhancements, projects –
Analyse, design, develop and implement SAP solutions according to Activate methodology and policies by analysing business requirements, designing system solutions, configuring SAP, executing unit, integration and user acceptance testing to meet business requirements which are aligned with SAP best business practices without compromising on service.
IT Service Management (ITSM) – incidents, service requests and problems –
Resolve system defects within defined SLAs by applying fixes and SAP notes after a thorough analysis of trends, system logs, incidents, service requests, reported problems and queries to ensure a robust, reliable and stable SAP environment.
Data and systems management –
Manage systems and data by contributing to the administration of back-up and recovery, security and capacity planning with the use of Data Volume Management tools to trigger the archiving process with which database growth is monitored to maintain optimised systems that deliver accurate and timely information
Knowledge management (business and systems) –
Share knowledge by documenting business solutions, compile end-user guides/manuals, providing input to training material and standard business processes/procedures, train trainers, coordinators and key users to increase business and systems know-how/proficiency and nurture a skilled workforce.
Requirements:
Qualifications –
BCom, BSc or IT Degree or related tertiary NQF Level 6 qualification.
Experience/skills –
Three years of SAP in one of the following (FI, CO, PS, IM, PPM, FSCM, Treasury).
One year of using Activate/ASAP methodology.
Two years of as experience as a solution manager.
Five years of experience in the field.
Advantageous –
SAP certification in at least 1 module.
SAP Oil and Gas experience.
Experience with SAP Enterprise support tools (e.g. Innovation Discovery/ Value Maps).

A leading Petrochemical company seeks a skilled application developer (.Net) to provide technical analysis, implementation and support of custom-developed apps to meet business requirements. You will also provide systems enabling the business to make strategic decisions and improve operations efficiencies. The ideal candidate requires an NQF Level 6/advanced IT related tertiary qualification (Programming language included in studies is advantageous) and five years of IT experience of which three should have been in programming. After-hours support will also be required.
Duties:
Custom application development (.Net development) –
Develop technical solutions that comply with architecture strategies, frameworks, principles and latest industry and technology trends by designing solutions that meet business requirements, interpreting and understanding functional requirements, developing efficient, maintainable and re-usable (common) code for Microsoft development, designing and implementing SharePoint objects using graphic user interfaces and workflow, using up to date development techniques ,unit testing developed solution and deploying signed off solution into Production to enable the business to make better decisions and improve operational efficiencies.
Incident and problem management –
Support business web applications to provide results as expected by troubleshooting and analysing .Net code to identify the root cause and provide remedial action with defined SLA.
Quality assurance –
Review quality of web developed code by comparing code against a set of Microsoft development standards and cyber security rules to minimise disruption to the business web applications and reduce exposure to code vulnerabilities.
Solution documentation –
Document new and existing custom developed web applications by understanding the system development life cycle and the underlying architecture to facilitate support and future maintenance.
Requirements:
NQF Level 6 or any Advanced IT related tertiary qualification (programming language included in studies is advantageous).
Five years of experience in relevant IT field including three years of programming experience.
Flexible for after-hours support of custom developed applications.
