You will:
- Oversee scheduling and team output.
- Provide client service to certain Hellomedia clients.
- Work closely with the team on deadlines and deliverables, ensuring that they are supported and hitting their milestones.
- Work closely with the head of media to determine the learning, training and industry event attendance.
- Review and implement process, templatisation and refined reporting models.

- Work with the Hellocomputer studio on briefs, new work, delivery and timelines.
- Assist on new business and pitches.
- Ensure that the media team is supported and well managed.
- Interpret internal and external/client briefs.
- Ensure the team delivers within defined time frames and budgets.
- Ensure the team adheres to Hellocomputer processes and standards of delivery.
- Stay on top of industry trends, new ad channels, formats and tactics.
- Work collaboratively with key team members.
- Keep up to date with current and emerging design trends and technologies.
- Build relationships with clients based on trust and respect.
- Motivate and inspire good relationships within the media department and between the department and the rest of the agency.
- Develop a working environment which is conducive to the development of effective, award-winning work.
- Assist the Head of Media with recruitment and team management.
Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualification
- At least three years’ working experience with previous involvement in digital, advertising or media

Applicants should enjoy working as part of a team and have initiative to engage partners and community members in VMMC Communications activations.
Responsibilities may include, but is not limited to the following:
- Develop and oversee monitoring systems to track the success of communications programme implementation
- Design research and evaluation efforts to assess the impact of VMMC communications campaigns
- Develop, monitor and update an activity tracker and ensure the implementation thereof
- Conduct and oversee daily analysis and tracking of communication activities and ensure data collection systems are in place and functional
- Ensure accurate recording and management of collected data
- Prepare and present communications analysis and narrative reports
- Manage a team of VMMC communications coordinators
- Engage with other NGO’s, partners and stakeholders

Had you been with us last month, you would have:
- Launched a new fashion line on South Africa’s most important online sales platforms, including keyword optimized listings. You would have liased with our partners to make this a success.
- Analysed stock/inventory ROI, producing a report on the best and worst sellers, with recommendations for adjustments in investment in those SKUs. This was presented at a board level within the business.
- Performed A/B testing on product images for conversion on a partner sales platform. Having studied what worked and wh, you would be coming with suggestions for the next phase of testing.
- Liased closely with our product development team to ensure the development lab and product pipeline have a proper sales plan in place.
- Attended a wine tasting and tapas evening with the team at Open Wine or Publik. Drinking Alcohol not compulsory.
To be a good fit for this job, you must have:
- Determination – a fast learner and quick on your feet. The excuse ‘you didn’t tell me to do it’ doesn’t work with us.
- A desire to become a fantastic internet marketer, curious to learn and know more and constantly questioning why.
- Excellent, concise written English. Other languages are an advantage too.
- Fluency in Microsoft Excel. Photoshop, HTML/CSS and/or programming languages are also a major advantage.
- Ideally a university graduate. If not, convince us in your cover letter why we should hire you anyway. If you are a graduate, this is also advisable. Why should we hire you?
- Essentially a South African Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- A strong bias toward execution. You love working independently and thrive when given freedom and flexibility. You don’t need a babysitter.
We are located in the Cape Town CBD, having just moved into a shiny new HQ this month. We will be doubling our space again by September. We have a start-up feel, yet a relentless focus on execution, working together and learning quickly. We don’t do office politics. Reporting to our online sales manager, the results you generate will help us tremendously work towards our goal of doubling in size every four months.
