Bond Store Clerk (Cape Town Airport Industria) Leading Logistics Company based in Airport Industria (Cape Town) is seeking the skills and experience of a Bond Store Clerk who will be responsible for receiving and despatching stock in bond, keeping of accurate records and customs compliance.
Minimum requirements:
Grade 12
Minimum of 3 years’ working experience in a bond store
Minimum of 3 years’ experience of updating bond books (both manually and electronically)
Valid driver’s license (Advantageous)
Knowledge of the customs process in South Africa
Skills and Competencies:
Knowledge of the different types of entries applicable to receiving and dispatching of goods in bond store.
Knowledge of the customs bonded warehouse requirements.

Ensure goods received voucher and relevant customs entry (with customs release) received for cargo arriving.
Move cargo into bond store, ensuring goods received into bond are exactly as per the customs entry. Ensure product is correct, product code is correct, number of items/cartons is correct, etc.
If there are any mismatches or discrepancies request a second check or verification by warehouse operator. Once discrepancy has been finalized the documents have to be endorsed and operations notified.
Update bond register as per the customs requirements for goods received into the bond store.
Ensure goods received into the bond store are labelled as per the customs requirements. E.g. entry number, line number, description, entry date, quantity, etc.
Ensure that goods received are allocated positions in the bond store as per the customs requirements. E.g. per entry, per entry line, etc.
File all relevant goods received documentation.
Goods Dispatch:
Ensure goods dispatched voucher and relevant customs entry received for cargo picking.
Pick cargo as per the relevant customs entry (with customs release). Ensure products are correct, product code is correct; number of items/cartons is correct, etc.
If there are any mismatches or discrepancies request a second check or verification by warehouse operator. Once discrepancy has been finalized the documents have to be endorsed and operations notified.
Update the bond register as per the customs requirements for goods removed/dispatched out of the bond store.
Update the labels in the bond store with all the relevant entry details. E.g. removal entry number, line number, amount removed, balance, etc.
File all relevant goods dispatched documentation.

Regular stock/cycle counts of stock in bond to be done and recorded.
Ensure that stock count balance to bond register.
Ensure any damages or short loadings are reported immediately and recorded.
Ensure bond store is secure and conforms to customs requirements.
Assisting and resolving bond related queries.
Ensure that bond store movements for clients are invoiced as per applicable tariff.
Bond store to be kept clean, neat and tidy.
Ensure Bond store complies to health and safety requirements.
Bond store and bond records to conform to customs requirements at all times and be ready for a customs audits.
Liaise with clients where necessary in terms of stock take, stock requirements, etc.
Forecasting and planning in terms of space in bond store in relation to client forecasts for goods to be received or dispatched.
