Job description
The UCT Graduate School of Business is looking for an organised, proactive individual to receive inbound calls from current and potential clients interested in GSB offerings. As GSB brand ambassadors, this position will be the first point of contact into the school and will begin the process of relationship building with all prospects, students, alumni and corporate clients. It will serve the customers by determining requirements, answering enquiries, resolving problems, fulfilling requests, and updating the GSB CRM database.
We invite applications for the above position from dynamic and energetic individuals with strong call centre and administrative skills and experience, a strong client focus, and excellent communication abilities.
Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the incumbent will be required to:
- Receiving inbound calls, including transferred internal business development leads and calls from current and potential customers.
- Answering customer/client requests or enquiries regarding the GSB and its product offerings and make recommendations according to customer’s needs.
- Answering enquiries and resolving problems by clarifying desired information; researching, locating, and providing information.
- Capturing all caller enquiries, follow up actions and reminders onto the GSB CRM database.
- Preparing enquiry reports as required.
- Based on learnings from enquires received and feedback from clients, exploring opportunities to add value and enhance the existing service offering by feeding back to the relevant departments and suggesting improvements and highlighting opportunities.
- Contribute to building the GSB culture through incorporating the GSB values in everything we do.
The duration of this contract is three months (December, January and February 2018) at a salary of R9, 658 per month.

Requirements
The successful candidate will need to have:
Previous call centre experience preferred, but not required
Three to five years of work experience within an administrative role with a responsibility for being a brand ambassador supported by:
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
- Excellent listening skills and the ability to ask probing questions, understand concerns, and overcome objections
- Strong work ethic and self-starter, able to effectively organize and manage multiple priorities and adapt to change within a fast-paced business environment
- Must possess a professional, friendly attitude and demeanor appropriate to a top business school like the GSB.
- Must be able to quickly develop a rapport with customers over the phone and demonstrate strong influencing and closing skills.
- Ability to learn and navigate a CRM
- A high level of diplomacy, emotional intelligence and personal integrity;
- An ability to work independently with minimal supervision, exercise judgement; establish priorities and display personal initiative
- Preference will be given to candidates who are able to start immediately.
